Artist Statement: I am a woodturner, creating a variety of pieces with classic minimalist designs - driven by the organic nature of wood grain, burl and bark. While I do work with many traditional hardwoods, I prefer to create pieces from lumber that is not considered commercially viable. Trees that have come down in storms, that have died or begun to decay, or that have been attacked by insects or fungus provide me with raw material with which I can create more unique works. Most of the time, these natural treasures are not apparent until I have harvested and milled the wood into lumber. As examples, I have pieces created from decorative trees like eastern red bud and pear, as well as trees commonly found in hedges, like osage orange, box elder, mulberry and spalted maple. My works often include evidence of insect or fungus damage, natural checking (cracks), and live edges (bits of bark).
Imagine Glass Studios
Reif
Artist Statement: Each stained and fused glass piece I create leaves me amazed at the way glass moves and comes to life.
I work with 2d and 3d stained glass and utilize fused and slumped techniques as well. All of the 2d glass pictures are made completely of glass and drawn with powdered and/or crushed glass. I work in stained glass using natural materials in a more contemporary style. Since I started to pursue this passion 14 years ago , I have learned one thing: each day brings new possibilities.

Sculptured Painting Highlighted with invisable Luminesent Paint
Bateman III
Artist Statement: My SCULPTURED PAINTINGS (heavy, 3 dimensional Impasto) are lush landscapes featuring a road or path theme exploring the majesty of trees and the bold, intense color found in Nature along with Spirituality of life outdoors away from the chaos and hardships of life. My pieces have a tremendous amount of texture and depth, literally jumping off the canvas. This unique style leaves the viewer to contemplate the correlation between nature and the surreal.
I combine both paintbrush and pallet knife along with various other useful objects and applications to achieve various preliminary thicknesses of paint and texture. I then use sculpture and carving to enhance and create the richly textured paint on the canvas.
The brilliant layers of colors and vibrant contrast create a calm, serene, peaceful effect which helps the mind connect to the universe thru my contemporary approach to landscapes.
My paintings invite you to be inspired by the metaphor of the mystery and the journey of life along with a spiritual retreat to the viewer as I believe all art should.
3-dimensional texture not only enhances the boldness of the paint and the depth of the image; but also allows the external light to impact upon the painting creating a constant change of what the viewer observes.
